"AARP Driver Safety Program"

Schedule for 2004

The "AARP Driver Safety Program" class schedule is as listed below. For the eight hour class, attendance is required on both days in order to qualify for any automobile insurance discount and it is offered in two (2) four hour sessions for first time participants. 

A four hour refresher course is offered in one (1) four hour session for those who are taking the course for the three year renewal and have previously taken the eight hour course.  The eight hour course is for those who have never taken the course before. 

To attend, participants must be age 50 and older.  To be eligible for the 10% discount on their insurance premiums, participants must be age 55 and older.  It is best if both spouses attend the course.

The cost is $11.00 per person, which includes a $1.00 handling fee.  If you register and do not attend the $1.00 handling fee will not be returned.  Registration is phone-in only!  Registration for the class does not start until designated registration date.  Payment can be made by check or money order, made payable to the Winona Senior Friendship Center, or payment can be made in cash.  All payments must be received by 4.00p.p. the Friday prior to the class session.

****Please note that on some days there will be 2 classes of the 4 hour refresher course offered.  make sure when you call in to register that you specify which class you would like to attend.

Two classes on Monday, February 23rd - 4 hour refresher

Class times: Day at 12:30 - 4:30 p.m. or night at 6:00 - 10:00p.m.

Two classes on Monday, March 22nd - 4 hour refresher

Two classes on Monday, June 21st - 4 hour refresher

Two classes on Monday, September 20th - 4 hour refresher

Two classes on Monday, November 15th - 4 hour refresher

Class times: Day class at 12:30 - 4:300 p.m. or night at 6:00 - 10:00p.m.

Two classes on Monday, December 13th - 4 hour

Class times: Day class at 12:30 - 4:40 p.m. or night at 6:00 - 10:00p.m.

* Call 454-5212, after 8:00 a.m. to register; this is the Winona Senior Friendship Center's telephone line.

*You may register yourself and one other person.

*Please bring your driver's license with you to class; it is needed to complete necessary forms.

*Participants are encouraged to bring a writing instrument of their own.
