ADULT SOFTBALL MANAGERS

If you are a manager of a softball team and have a change of address, phone number or if the name of the manager has changed, please make sure that you contact Kelli at the Park Recreation office, 457-8258, to give us the correct address and phone number.  We will need to send information out to you and we want to make sure that you are getting the information.

ADULT SOFTBALL RULE OF THE WEEK-LOCAL

ASA Co. Rec. Rule:  Any walk to a male batter will result in a two base award.  The next batter (a female) must bat.  Exception:  with two outs, the female batter has the option to walk or bat.  Either way the male walked is awarded two bases.  Runners are advanced only if forced to advance.  Special Note:  Courtesy Runner-The courtesy runner must be the person who made the last previous out or someone who has not yet entered the game.  Men must run for men, women must run for women.  Courtesy runners are not limited to injured players.

MSF-STATE AND DISTRICT SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT TEAMS

All teams that submitted their tournament entry fees for state and district tournaments have received berths.   As soon as the MSF-ASA sends me the tournament information and pairings, the manager of your team will be called to pick up your pairing packet containing a copy of your official roster, which is then hand-delivered to the tournament director prior to playing your first game on the day of the tournament.  I would suggest that if you have not made motel reservations that you do so now and not wait until you receive your pairing packet.  Usually by that time the motels are booked solid.  (If you need a list of motels, check with our office, and I may have a listing for out of town motels from previous years.)  Special Note:  The tournament pairings will not be sent to our office until one or two weeks before your specific tournament.

 ADULT SOFTBALL ROSTERS

Please note that the last day to add to or delete from your official adult softball roster was June 24, 2005.  You are “stuck” with only those players listed on your roster.  Copies of those rosters have been sent to the State ASA-MSF office.

PLEASE-PICK UP AFTER YOURSEL V ES

Softball players, managers and spectators, please place your garbage, aluminum cans, etc. in the trash containers provided.  Trash containers are provided at each of the Bambenek fields.  Don’t expect the Park Maintenance Department to pick up after you each night.  Aluminum can collectors will have to go through the trash containers.  Please help keep our Parks and Recreational Facilities clean.

WINONA DA I LY NEWS ADULT SOFTBALL H I GHL I GHTS

A reminder to all Park Rec reation Adult Softball teams-this is an opportunity to get your team’s name in print after each game.  The Winona Daily News has set aside a section each day to print Park Rec reation Adult Softball statistics from the previous evening’s game.  These articles are the result of the two teams getting together immediately following the game and one manager filling out the form that was given to all managers at the organizational meeting.  You then drop the form off at the Winona Daily News or put it in the drop box before 9:00 p.m.  NOTE:  PLEASE DO NOT ABUSE THIS PRIVILEGE BY PLAING FALSE NAMES, STATISTICS, ETC.
